How much does it cost to put my pet to sleep at home?

Facing the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. For many, the thought of providing their beloved companion with a peaceful passing in the comfort of home brings solace during a difficult time. Even as this emotional end approaches, its important to talk about the practical aspects of putting your pet to sleep. That’s why we want to share as much information as we can about how much it costs to put your pet to sleep at home.

At Rainbow Bridge Vets we want to ensure that our pricing is simple and transparent. That’s why we have one fixed price of £450 for our home pet euthanasia and do not charge according to the size or weight of your pet. This single pricing includes everything you need for a compassionate and dignified goodbye to your beloved companion, though it does not include the cost of cremation.

There are no hidden costs or extras and you won't find yourself facing additional charges for mileage, the transport of your pet’s body to our recommended crematorium, the cost or administration of sedatives or drugs and speaking to us on the phone or by messaging is also included to support you and your pet’s needs.

As the cost of cremation is not included in our price for home pet euthanasia, you are free to choose any cremation or burial option that best suits you and your circumstances. At Rainbow Bridge Vets we recommend Culm Valley Pet Cremations in the Blackdown Hills. As a family-run business, Diana and Steven offer a personal touch and can complete cremations within a few days at most, often even the next day allowing you to have your pet back with you as quickly as possible. They only offer individual pet cremations so that you can have the ashes of your pet returned to you. Your pet will always be handled with care and respect, providing you with peace of mind during such a difficult time.

Our aim is to make the process of arranging your pet’s final goodbye at home as easy and stress-free as possible so that you can focus fully on your pet’s needs. From first contact to booking, the appointment and aftercare we have thought how best to make things go as smoothly as possible. By choosing Rainbow Bridge Vets you can ensure that you and your pet receives the compassionate care and support both you and they deserve during their final moments.
